REPORTS TO: Practice Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Provide all types of injection procedures. Includes taking medical histories, performing examinations, and developing a treatment plan (within the scope of practice) for cosmetic patients and administering treatments as directed by their supervising physician.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of accredited nursing program
- Current RN state license maintained
- Training in plastic surgery nursing is highly valued
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least three to five years of experience working in Aesthetics as a Nurse Injector
- Experience doing neurotoxin/dermal filler injections/lasers
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
- Familiarity with cosmetic procedures
- Excellent communication skills
- Well-organized with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Treats patients and co-workers with respect
- Ability to work well with team members
- Empathetic with patient’s needs and concerns
- Neat, professional appearance
RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
Patient Care
- Takes patient history and records the information in the patient’s chart.
- Maintains own schedule, and sees patients for cosmetic injectables consultation and/or treatment
- Provides direct patient care as a representative of the physician, treating
- the patient in a style and manner developed and directed by the supervising physician and consistent with authorized practice as defined by state law
- Confirms with patients their clear understanding that a registered nurse is treating them
- Delivers agreed upon procedures including but not limited to injection therapy, taking into consideration their training, experience, and preparation as an RN
- Maintains the patient’s medical records detailing all treatment procedures, medication history
Other duties Compensation based on experience
- Reviews with the supervising physician all delegated patient services on a regular basis, as well as mutually agreed guidelines for the practice
- Maintains treatment rooms and work areas in compliance with OSHA standards
- Maintains inventory-tracking system for all injectable products
- Maintains patient confidentiality by following the HIPAA Compliance Plan established by the practice; releases PHI in accordance with the practice's HIPAA Compliance Plan, attends regular HIPAA training, maintains data security by refusing to share computer and other passwords, and reports all identified and suspected HIPAA violations to the Privacy Officer
- Tracks referral sources, sends thank you letters to the source, and dictates consultation letters to the patient
- Attends staff meetings
- Stays in communication with Reps for trainings/new products in the market
- Performs all other tasks and projects assigned by the surgeon/practice manager
