We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and coding. The Medical Assistant will provide high-quality care to patients in an outpatient setting, while also supporting the healthcare team in an urgent care setting. This role requires a commitment to delivering exceptional patient experiences and contributing to a positive work environment.
Duties:
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Take and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse rate.
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers with patient examinations, including routine check-ups and minor surgical procedures.
- Utilize medical terminology and anatomy knowledge to accurately document patient information and medical histories.
- Provide basic life support, including CPR and first aid, as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control standards and policies.
- Perform routine administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and efficient care delivery.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a medical assisting program or equivalent training is prefered
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) or the ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.
- Basic life support certification required.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs) and medical coding systems.
