We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our team at a busy plastic surgery office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service, managing front desk operations, and supporting the administrative functions of our practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors with a warm and professional demeanor.
- Answer phone calls promptly and respond to inquiries regarding services, appointments, and procedures.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of the physician’s time.
- Maintain and update patient records with accuracy, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collect co-pays and manage billing inquiries with a clear understanding of financial policies.
- Coordinate communication between patients and medical staff, ensuring seamless information flow.
- Assist with the preparation of patient charts and ensure all necessary documentation is in place for appointments.
- Handle administrative tasks, including filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
- Support the office manager with various tasks and projects as needed.
Requirements:
·Must be comfortable with the use of an Intuitive Computing system and must have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
·Must be comfortable with technology such as the telephone, computer, fax, copier, printer, etc.
·Must be comfortable speaking Spanish if necessary.
·Must be able to work well with others in a team environment.
Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role, preferably in a plastic surgery or healthcare setting.
Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software (e.g., MS Office).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is preferred.
