POSITION OVERVIEW
The Laser Alignment Technician will be responsible for utilizing high-precision equipment to ensure the accurate alignment of various industrial components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in high-precision equipment alignment, have experience operating laser trackers, and excel in analytical problem-solving within an industrial environment. The candidate must be willing to travel and have a desire to teach, coach, and mentor others.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate Leica laser tracker for precise equipment alignment in industrial settings.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex metrology issues, proposing effective solutions.
- Perform high-precision measurements and alignment tasks with minimal supervision.
- Maintain and calibrate laser tracking equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members (workers, superintendents, PMs, OEM reps, and customers) to achieve project goals and meet tight deadlines.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience in operating laser trackers (Leica, Faro, API, etc.) in industrial environments.
- Ability and capacity to operate a total station, 3D scanner, and optical theodolite.
- Ability and desire to teach, coach and mentor others.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot metrology issues.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of mathematical principles.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work and interact with others daily.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in MS Windows, MS Office applications.
- Experience with one or more of the following applications is a plus: AutoCAD, Spatial Analyzer, Polyworks, Inventor, or some form of CMM metrology software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and bending.
- Comfortable working in various industrial environments, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Capability to operate and maneuver equipment in confined or elevated spaces.
