Job Summary:
Reporting to IT, serve as the technical expert for the organization’s Human Resource Information System (HRIS). Bridge HR and IT by providing system administration, technical support, and analytical insights to optimize HR functions. Ensure the HRIS aligns with organizational goals by managing system upgrades, ensuring data integrity, and identifying opportunities for process improvement, to provide valuable insights for strategic decision-making. Collaborate closely with HR, IT, and other departments to deliver efficient,
data-driven HR solutions.
Responsibilities:
System Management & Maintenance:
- Administer and configure the HRIS to support HR processes such as payroll, benefits, timekeeping, and performance management
- Manage system upgrades, implementations, and patches to ensure minimal disruption to operations
- Oversee system security, user access, and permissions to safeguard data
- Collaborate with the IT department to ensure HRIS integrates seamlessly with other enterprise systems and applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to system interfaces, security, and performance
- Monitor system performance and work with IT to optimize infrastructure and backend operations
Data Integrity & Reporting:
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of HR data across all platforms by performing regular audits
- Generate custom reports and dashboards for key stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and leadership
- Develop metrics and KPIs for HR operations, providing actionable insights to improve processes and drive efficiency
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement in HR operations using HRIS capabilities
- Lead HRIS-related projects, including new module implementations and integrations with third-party applications
- Collaborate with HR leadership to streamline workflows and enhance system functionality
- Lead the technical configuration of HRIS modules, working with IT to ensure optimal performance and compliance with IT standards
- Identify opportunities for technical automation and system enhancements to streamline HR and business processes
User Training & Support:
- Provide user training and support for HR staff and employees to maximize system utilization.
- Troubleshoot system issues and act as the primary point of contact for HRIS-related inquiries.
- Create and maintain documentation for system processes and procedures.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
- Partner with HR, IT, and other departments to align HRIS capabilities with organizational goals
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to manage system upgrades, integrations, and troubleshooting
- Act as the lead on HRIS vendor relationships, ensuring service level agreements are met
- Serve as the primary liaison between HR, IT and external vendors for system integrations, upgrades and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with IT on security protocols, ensuring system data integrity and compliance with IT standards and policies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, information technology, business administration, or a related field required. Master’s degree in human resources, IT or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HRIS administration to include leading system implementations, upgrades, and/or integrations, experience in HR data reporting, analytics and dashboard creation, and experience with a focus on technical configurations, integrations, and system support required. Experience in Paycom preferred.
- In-depth understanding of HR processes and workflows (e.g., payroll, benefits, recruiting, performance management) required
- Strong knowledge of HRIS databases, data structures, and reporting tools required
- Familiarity with HR regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., FLSA, ACA) required
- Knowledge of enterprise systems integration, security protocols, and IT service management required
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools required
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines required
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail required
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders required
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative environment required
- Ability to work independently and lead initiatives with minimal supervision required
- HRIS certification preferred
- Experience with system integrations, API development, or cloud-based platforms preferred
