POSITION OVERVIEW

The Laser Alignment Technician will be responsible for utilizing high-precision equipment to ensure the accurate alignment of various industrial components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in high-precision equipment alignment, have experience operating laser trackers, and excel in analytical problem-solving within an industrial environment. The candidate must be willing to travel and have a desire to teach, coach, and mentor others.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate Leica laser tracker for precise equipment alignment in industrial settings.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex metrology issues, proposing effective solutions.
Perform high-precision measurements and alignment tasks with minimal supervision.
Maintain and calibrate laser tracking equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with team members (workers, superintendents, PMs, OEM reps, and customers) to achieve project goals and meet tight deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS

Proven experience in operating laser trackers (Leica, Faro, API, etc.) in industrial environments.
Ability and capacity to operate a total station, 3D scanner, and optical theodolite.
Ability and desire to teach, coach and mentor others.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot metrology issues.
Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of mathematical principles.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work and interact with others daily.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Proficiency in MS Windows, MS Office applications.
Experience with one or more of the following applications is a plus: AutoCAD, Spatial Analyzer, Polyworks, Inventor, or some form of CMM metrology software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Willingness to travel as required.
Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and bending.
Comfortable working in various industrial environments, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Capability to operate and maneuver equipment in confined or elevated spaces.
