Job Summary:
The Employee Relations Specialist plays an integral role in providing employment-related guidance and support to management and employees. This position works to prevent and resolve problems/disputes and assist in retention initiatives such as collecting exit feedback. The responsibilities include areas of performance management, discipline, records retention, and employee relations. The role oversees and ensures effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
Responsibilities:
Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations using excellent communication and strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
Prepare employment related documents including but not limited to - disciplinary action, performance improvement plans, termination documents etc.
Partner with leadership on performance management and disciplinary actions.
Responding to inquiries and document progress in internal ticketing system
Display strong professionalism and the ability to remain unbiased while conducting investigations or resolving conflicts
Maintain highly confidential information and collaborate with partners on a need-to-know basis.
Act as an ambassador to new employees who may have sensitive questions or situations.
Ensure compliance with EEO, ADA, FMLA and other federal and state regulatory laws and policies.
Promote a high-performance, positive, team-oriented culture.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Management, Communications, or a related discipline and three years of related experience is preferred.
In place of a Bachelor’s Degree, (2-4) years of experience in human resources, labor relations work involving grievance procedures, conducting investigations, performance management/coaching, and knowledge of employee relations and applicable regulations is required.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive material
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
Collaborative, team-oriented, and adept at building positive and influential relationship
