Overview
This unique opportunity is for someone who enjoys both the traditional healthcare and the high-end customer experience in a well-recognized plastic surgery and medispa practice.
Candidates must have a highly professional and courteous conduct with an emphasis on confidentially and professional appearance. We are looking for a team player with a “can do” attitude and the ability to drive sales. Our medical Assistant will be responsible for providing support to providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
Responsibilities include:
·Sets up examining room with the correct instruments, supplies and equipment needed before patient is brought in / for all in office procedures and “breaks down” all afterwards.
· Disposes of contaminated supplies, cleans / sterilizes instruments and runs autoclave
·Prepares patients for the clinical care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; providing examination gowns and drape; helping them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment.
·Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
·Assists during medical examinations / Supports patient care delivery (as allowable by applicable law / regulation) by helping providers during examinations
·Explains treatment procedures, medications and provider’s instructions to patients and answers patients’ questions.
·Enters patients' vital statistics and information such as medications, test results and radiology, and laboratory orders into the Electronic Health Record.
·Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential.
·Other duties as needed.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Completion of relevant certificate program preferred, College degree highly preferred)
- Medical assistant certification (CMA / RMA) preferred
- 2+ years of experience working as a medical assistant (plastic surgery or dermatology experience strongly preferred)
- Must have knowledge of medical terminology
- Friendly and compassionate disposition with strong interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
- Friendly and compassionate disposition

- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Dedication to maintaining confidentiality of all patient records
- Experience with practice management software (ie EMA) and Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
