Gallaher Plastic Surgery & Med Spa is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team! You will be responsible for scheduling all procedure appointments, communicating with patients regarding medication, and lab results. You will also be charged with maintaining medical supply inventory and ensuring compliance with OSHA and CLIA.
Some of your duties will include:
· Reviews medical supply inventory levels and informs who is responsible for placing medical supply orders when low.
· Schedules in office procedure appointments according to urgency while taking into consideration the physicians’ schedules and the standard times required to perform the surgical procedures.
· Ensure that all consent forms, referrals, labs, financial deposits, and other related documents are in order and signed as required prior to procedure date.
· Triages nursing calls from patients, pharmacies, and primary care physicians as necessary.
· Returns phone calls to patients, pharmacies, etc., timely to ensure continuity of communication.
· Logs all surgical specimens submitted to pathology in the biopsy book. Logs final diagnosis upon receipt of consultation report (or when slides are read by physician) in the biopsy book.
· Calls patients to report lab results, tissue diagnosis, and culture results. Logs details of patient notification in both the biopsy book and the patient’s medical record.
· Organize, stock, and clean patient rooms.
· Autoclave procedure packs with appropriate instruments.
· Performs all duties for appropriate biohazard material management.
· Pack physician surgery bag as needed.
Before you apply, make sure you have the following qualifications:
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- Five years’ experience in a plastic surgeon’s office preferred.
- Two years’ experience as a clinical coordinator.
- Registered nurse license required.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent knowledge of dermatology and skin care treatment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Well-organized with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Treats patients and co-workers with respect.
- Empathetic with patient’s needs and concerns.
