Position Overview:
As a Medical Receptionist at Grieshaber Dermatology, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and play a critical role in ensuring that every visit is a smooth, positive experience. You will manage a busy front desk, answer phones, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and perform general office duties, all while maintaining a professional and welcoming demeanor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors with a friendly, professional attitude.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and direct inquiries to the appropriate departments.
- Verify patient insurance information and ensure accurate data entry in the system.
- Maintain and update patient records in our electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Process patient payments and handle billing inquiries.
- Coordinate patient flow and communicate with medical staff to ensure timely appointments and care.
- Manage patient check-in/check-out procedures efficiently and accurately.
- Handle patient questions or concerns and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and managing office supplies.
- Adhere to clinic policies and HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and patient privacy.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a receptionist in a medical or healthcare setting is preferred, but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and provide exceptional customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Modernizing Medicine EMA a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance procedures, and billing processes is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional medical office certifications a plus.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and a team player.
