Job Overview: We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant in our practice, you will be responsible for assisting all medical professionals with procedures and ensuring all patient interactions meet the highest standards of care. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of medical protocols, outstanding communication skills, and a passion for wellness and beauty. A current state license is required for this position. This position will be Monday and Wednesday 8 - 5 with expectation for some changes as the Dr's schedule changes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be punctual and ensure all appointments are completed within the scheduled time frame.
- Promote a professional, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere for patients and staff.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of medical protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and clinic policies.
- Build professional relationships with patients using exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication.
- Review new patient intake forms, document patient treatments, and maintain accurate medical records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support medical practitioners with pre- and post-procedure care, including assisting with patient intake and treatment preparation.
- Educate and inform patients on available services, products, and treatments.
- Promote and document home skincare regimens and ensure patients are aware of all wellness and beauty services offered.
- Handle patient inquiries with professionalism and provide accurate responses to ensure patient satisfaction.
- Assist in the operation of non-invasive devices, including Emsculpt, Emsella, PNOE, Red Light Therapy, and Lymphatic suits.
- Help with medical supply inventory, orders, and stockroom management.
- Turn over exam rooms after each patient visit, sterilize tools, and assist with laundry duties.
- Assist at the front desk and answer phone calls when needed, following office protocols.
- Participate in team training, meetings, and educational opportunities to stay up-to-date with industry trends and standards.
- Maintain a positive and collaborative team spirit, supporting all office operations as required by management.
Position Requirements:
- Must hold and maintain a current state license.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in an aesthetic, dermatology, or plastic surgery setting.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with patients.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with basic computer systems and medical software.
- Ability to abide by HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Friendly, professional, and positive attitude with a team-player mindset.
- Strong customer service orientation and solutions-focused approach to patient care.
- Flexibility to attend external trainings, in-services, and industry conferences (2 per year minimum).
Job hours will primarily be Monday and Wednesday 8 - 5. Opportunity for more hours when the doctor's in office schedule includes more hours.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Active state license as a Medical Assistant.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an aesthetic, dermatology, or plastic surgery practice is preferred.
