Job Title: Laser Technician
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Metrology Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in using laser tracking systems and metrology software to ensure product quality and conformance to engineering specifications.
Location: Rockford, IL
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Leica or Faro laser trackers to perform precise measurements and inspections
- Utilize SpatialAnalyzer software for inspection, analysis, and reporting
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints and CAD data
- Understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
- Create inspection programs based on drawings and CAD models
- Mark manufactured parts according to specifications
- Conduct quality control checks on manufactured and purchased parts
- Operate forklifts and 5/10+ ton cranes safely and efficiently
- Maintain accurate records and generate detailed reports
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with Leica or Faro laser trackers
- Proficiency in SpatialAnalyzer inspection software
- Strong understanding of GD&T principles
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and CAD data
- Experience in creating inspection programs from drawings and CAD models
- Forklift certification and experience operating 5/10+ ton cranes
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
