We are currently seeking a dynamic Medical Assistant to join our partner clinic, EVOLV Plastic Surgery & Medical Aesthetics located in Toledo, OH.

The position is part-time and requires a commitment of 3-4 days per week/up to 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Provide care according to physician’s instruction and in accordance with recognized techniques and procedures and established standards and policies to maintain the health and general well-being of the patient
- Assist with patient intake, including but not limited to obtaining medical history and updating patient records.
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with examinations, and performing medical procedures.
- Contacting patients to follow up with care.
- Perform medical support tasks, such as making sure patients' consents are filled out, all pre-op testing is in prior to patients' surgery and patient follow-ups are scheduled on a timely basis.
- Provide preoperative through postoperative teaching for both patient and family members
- Assist in surgery or other procedures as indicated
- Set up the patient for surgery including prepping area, draping with sterile drapes, setting up a clean tray with anesthesia, and preparing instruments
- Scrub in as assistant to the surgeons
- Hand instruments and cut sutures, keep the operative area clean and organized
- Administer anesthesia as directed by the physician
- Prepare equipment and paperwork for surgery
- Maintain appropriate records and documentation
- Scribing while assisting with exams; attention to detail is key
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- A minimum of 2-3 years of on-the-job experience in a medical office or related field is preferred
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Excellent communication skills and follow-through
- Experience working in a medical spa, dermatology, or plastic surgery office is a plus
- Phlebotomy experience – preferred
- Suture removal experience - preferred
- Familiar with EHR software for healthcare systems
- Excellent customer service with a patient focus
