DESCRIPTIVE SUMMARY
Dermatology technician is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our existing patients with during the multiple phases of their medical treatment. Perform administrative phone calls to our patients regarding medications, laboratory and pathology results. Scheduling of follow up appointments and nurse visits.

- Explain treatment procedures, medications, and providers’ instructions to patients and consents patients when procedures are performed.
- Provides patients with instructions and educational materials that relate to their unique skin type or condition.
- Provide patients with after care instructions regarding Blu-light, patch testing, laser treatment, Botox, biopsies, Mohs, Electrodesiccation and curettage, excisions, shave removal, wart treatment, LN2.
- Seeks advice and supervision of provider as required on treatment protocols and notifies the provider of any patient noncompliance.
- Scribing in EMR system during patient phone calls with attention to appropriate medical terminology, spelling, and thorough documentation.
- Faxing outgoing referrals, medication requests that are denied, medical records requests.
- Communicating appropriate retail products to patient.
- Office or non-manual work, which is directly related to management or general business operations of the employer or the employer's patients, and a primary component of which involves the exercise of independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance.
- Notifies patients of pathology and laboratory results as instructed by provider.
- May be required to complete biologic coordinator job duties as needed.
- Ability to resolve and/or escalate patient complaints in a calm and timely manner.
- Perform general office duties such as answering telephones, dictation and completing insurance forms including prior authorizations or prescription refills.
- Cross train in other departments as needed.
- Performs all duties and services in full compliance with North Idaho Dermatology Core Values.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
- Willingness to travel to other North Idaho Dermatology offices as needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experienced with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) keeping system preferably EMA.
